WINTER ADMIXTURE
for Concrete & Mortar

DESCRIPTION
ALCO Winter Admixture is a liquid admixture specifically designed to accelerate the setting time of mortar and concrete. It not only minimizes the danger of freezing but also improves workability and increases the density and strength of concrete and mortar. It will not cause efflorescence if the prescribed quantity guidelines of ALCO Winter Admixture are followed.

USE
· To minimize freezing of mortar and concrete
· Accelerates the setting time of mortar

TESTING to ASTM C-2494, Type C for concrete only:

ALCO Winter Admixture treated concrete shows a marked increase in compressive strength at early ages for concrete cured at 70° F. and 40° F.

APPLICATION
FOR CONCRETE:  The required quantity, naturally, depends on the amount of water used in a particular mix. In turn, this varies according to the plasticity, strength, etc., desired. However, the following figures serve as a rough guide, based on average consistencies, and allowing for the improved workability resulting from the addition of ALCO Winter Admixture.

FOR MORTAR:  The required amount of Winter Admixture is added to warm gauging water, in the following proportions, according to the temperature expected during the 24 hours following work:

             25° F.       1 Gallon Admixture to 15 Gallons of Water
             20° F.       1 Gallon Admixture to 10 Gallons of Water
             15° F.       1 Gallon Admixture to 7 Gallons of Water

Note: when filling metal door bucks or hollow metal window frames, the mortar must be stiff and packed tightly without voids. Use no more than the prescribed quantity of ALCO Winter Admixture.

We warrant our materials to be of good quality and will replace materials found defective, providing, however, that the buyer shall examine the materials when received and promptly notify us of any defects before the materials are used or incorporated into a structure for which they are intended. This warranty is in lieu of all others expressed or implied and may not be extended by representatives, written sales or information or drawings. Nor do our distributors or salesmen or any other representatives of distributors or of this  company have any authority to extend any guarantee beyond that outlined above or to waive the limitations of the seller's liability.
